Beaufort Hill Woodlands - a Local Nature Reserve near Brynmawr comprising of ponds and woodland.

BRFM - a local radio station and community media centre.

Cwm Community Care - a volunteer group working to improve and enhance the local community in Cwm.

Ebbw Fach Trail - this trail links together 14 community greenspaces between Brynmawr and Llanhilleth.

Friends of Parc Nant-y-Waun - the Friends manage this Local Nature Reserve in the north of the Ebbw Fach Valley.

Outdoor Learning Wales Resources - This takes you to an amazing pack of FREE outdoor activities put together by teachers, NRW and GWT and best of all we have listed how they are linked to the literacy and numeracy framework.  Have fun downloading them all.

Wildlife Trackers - This is a website run by a camera firm to encourage children to get outside and get familiar with their local environment.  It includes FREE tracker sheets and challenges and can lead to badges and awards for their work. 

OPAL Surveys -  Citizen science surveys for individual or school/community group.  Tree surveys to biodiversity, worm surveys, assessing the health of your pond and many more. All the resources can be downloaded FREE of charge and you can upload your data to be part of a nationwide survey.

CREST Award SchemeThe CREST Awards scheme is the British Science Association’s flagship programme for young people. It is the only nationally recognised accreditation scheme for STEM project work (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects, providing science enrichment activities to inspire and engage 5-to-19-year olds. This resource can be used to gain a CREST Discovery level accredited Award.  Find out more about how you could use your accredited activity/resource/project to gain a CREST Award here.
