Art and nature come together at Art in Penallt

Gwent Wildlife Trust are excited to be running nature-inspired creative workshops as part of this year's celebrations.

Gwent Wildlife Trust is delighted to be part of Art in Penallt 2025, a vibrant celebration of local art, creativity and nature. The event takes place 23rd-25th August across three beautiful venues in Penallt Village: Pelham Hall, The Bush Inn, and our own Pentwyn Farm.

As part of the celebrations, we're excited to be running a host of nature-inspired creative workshops and activities over the weekend. Visitors can book workshops on wildlife journaling and photography, natural wreath making, willow weaving, sculpting with clay, and join a sound bath.

Natasha Burgon, our Senior Fundraising Officer, is running the Natural Wreath Making workshop, and told us "Making wreaths with people evokes fond memories and stories often unfold of peoples past experiences of foraging and wreath making with friends and family. I love seeing people relaxing, chatting, and enjoying working with nature, twisting, shaping and adding until they’re happy with their creations."

The workshops take place in and around our beautiful Nature Reserve at Pentwyn Farm, among haymeadows that host over eighty species of wildflowers and grasses. Visitors can expect to see rare orchids and abundant wildflowers bringing loads of butterflies and moths.

As well as all that, we’ve also got some free creative activities running throughout the whole weekend. Visitors can to add to our nature-based mandala, make their mark on our community wall mural, or have a go at our grassland maze to find hidden sculptures!

Art in Penallt features local and international artists and makers, fine art, indoor and outdoor sculpture, wood, photography, glass, ceramics and more. We look forward to seeing everyone join in this 3-day event to support art and nature together!
