About the event

Join local wildlife photographer and ecologist, Chris Hatch, to learn about how to take the best possible photos of the stunning Gwent uplands landscape and unique wildlife. Just in time to enter your brilliant photos into our photo competition!

Meeting at main car park, Garn Lakes, we will enjoy a day of wildlife discovery and exploration in a fascinating post-industrial wildlife haven.

Experienced ecologist and photographer Chris Hatch has been running photography courses for Gwent Wildlife Trust for many years, inspiring both beginners and more experienced photographers to get closer to nature with their cameras. This is the first course of this kind that we're running, as part of the South East Wales Resilient Uplands project and is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced photographers looking to find out more about the incredible wildlife of Gwent's uplands, where to find it and how to capture it.

The emphasis will be on landscape and macro photography and we therefore recommend a DSLR , Bridge or compact camera would get the best results on the day.

This event is limited to 10 people and will be outdoors and socially distanced.

Please bring your own mask and hand sanitiser.

Wear sturdy footwear and outdoor clothing – the terrain will be uneven in some places.

This course is funded by the South East Wales Resilient Uplands so deposit only required on booking (to reduce no shows). This is refundable on attendance.
