Join local ecologist and wildlife photographer, Chris Hatch, to learn how to make the best use of the macro setting on your camera, getting up close and personal with species that you might not normally take a second glance of. As well as learning techniques and skills for taking the best photos, Chris will be able to share knowledge about the species you are photographing too.

This course is funded by the South East Wales Resilient Uplands Project (SEWRU) and so the booking deposit is refundable on attendance. If you enjoy photographing in the uplands, why not take part in the SEWRU photo competition too? https://www.gwentwildlife.org/hill-life-through-lens-photography-competition

The course is suitable for beginners or more experienced photographers.

Whilst you will not be walking long distances, the ground is uneven and unsurfaced. Please wear sturdy, waterproof footwear and warm waterproof clothing appropriate to the weather on the day. Please also bring any food and drink that you will require as well as your camera!

COVID: Please bring a face covering with you as some parts of the course may require you to be closer than 2m apart. You may also wish to bring your own hand sanitiser but we will provide this as well. All of the course will take place outdoors so please dress appropriately for this.
