About the Races

The Race for Wildlife 10k is Gwent Wildlife Trust's annual road race which takes place in the heart of the picturesque Gwent Levels. It's a flat and fully accessible route around the village of Redwick on quiet roads, and so an ideal race for beginners, runners looking for a Personal Best, or for those who just fancy a challenge to raise some money for charity. There'll be a medal for all entries and prizes for overall and category winners! The 1k Fun Run takes you around Undy Football Club pitch. All ages 14 and under are welcome and fancy dress is encouraged! Whether you take part in the 10k Race for Wildlife or fancy supporting younger family members in the 1k Fun Run, this idyllic, quiet country road race has something for everyone! Now in its 5th year, we welcome all to take part in what promises to be another fantastic event which raises funds for Gwent Wildlife Trust.

The 10k Race for Wildlife and 1k Fun Run both start at Undy Athletic Football Club, The Causeway, Undy, NP26 3EW.

Teas, coffees and cakes will be served at the football club. There are car parking spaces, changing, toilet and shower facilities. Medical cover will also be on hand.

Volunteer to be an event marshal

Volunteer event marshals are essential to the smooth running of the day and we will need lots of help on race day to make it a success! We need help directing cars, directing runners on route, giving out water at water stations etc. All necessary training will be given on the morning of the race. If you'd like to volunteer and be part of this special event, please contact GWT on 01600 740600 or email Robert Magee at: rmagee@gwentwildlife.org

Everyone who enters is encouraged to raise as much as they can to help a number of important Gwent Wildlife Trust projects. If you can't run or can't be there on the day, perhaps you would consider sponsoring someone who is running!

If you prefer, please set up a fundraising page on the Virgin Money Giving website, www.virginmoneygiving.com. You can set up your own page, and email the link to your friends, colleagues and family. Just follow these simple instructions:
