About the event

Join Gwent Wildlife Trust's Kathy Barclay and Natalie Waller to learn all about how to deliver Forest School in your setting.  The course consists of 19 Credits at Level 3 which are contained in five Units of Study.

Supporting Learning, Play and Development in the Natural Environment – 5 credits

Observation and Evaluation of Forest School – 2 credits

Sustainable Use and Management of Natural Resources – 3 credits

Teach Outdoor Practical Skills – 3 credits

Deliver Forest School – 6 credits

The course equates to 70 hours of taught time and requires, on average, a further 120 hours of self-study time from the student.  You must have access to a small group and a wooded site to run your initial 6 Forest School sessions. This needs to be the same group over the 6 weeks and the group size must be no larger than 16.

Networking by the students on the course and the formation of small self-study groups is recognised as a useful tool aiding successful completion of the course.  Tutorials by telephone, online and email are available during the course.
