How can you help?

Make a donation to us online via the Big Give website here during the campaign week, 22-29 April and your donation will be doubled, until matched funds run out!

Please note: you must donate to us online via Big Give for your donation to be doubled - not direct to us on our website, by phone, email or post.

For many of us who care deeply about Gwent’s wildlife, our connection to nature began with simple moments outdoors: watching birds, discovering pond life, or exploring woodlands close to home. Thanks to supporters like you, Gwent Wildlife Trust helps young people experience those moments too.

However, too many young people today still have limited access to wild spaces. At a time when younger generations feel more anxious than ever about the climate crisis, opportunities to connect with nature and take meaningful action have never been more important.

That’s why our youth engagement programme helps young people connect with wildlife through hands-on conservation. Through activities such as butterfly monitoring, planting trees, and making bat boxes, our youth action groups restore habitats and improve biodiversity.

By contributing to nature’s recovery, our youth action groups also build confidence, boost wellbeing, and develop practical green skills. One member of our Wildlife Warriors told us he joined to “turn eco-anxiety into positive action for nature”, and the experience has already shaped his plans for a future career in conservation.

To sustain and grow these opportunities so that more young people can connect with wildlife and take action for nature, we are asking for your help through our Growing Wildlife Champions funding appeal.
