Thanks to players of the National Lottery, Gwent Wildlife Trust has been awarded £50,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Funds Covid-19 Emergency Grants fund.

Help The Wildlife Trusts tackle the nature and climate emergency by challenging yourself to a Big Wild Walk this October half-term! Walk 30km across the week, or set your own challenge.

Our approach is to focus our efforts on supporting and empowering communities and individuals to undertake actions for nature in their local area. We want to help create resilient communities in Gwent. Over the coming months, we’re offering all sorts of ways you can learn and get involved in action to protect local wildlife: including walks, talks, training, networking events and volunteering. Whether you're new to nature or a wildlife expert, we hope these resources can help.

Dig out your camera and walking boots, bobblehat/sunhat/shades (depending on what time of year it is) and get involved in with our photography competition showcasing the wildlife, people and the landscapes of the uplands in the Gwent area.
