A biodiverse, healthy, functioning ecosystem depends on a vast variety of species of course, but by spotlighting a small number, we are far better able to measure impact and engage others in targetted action. Each of our selected species occur in Gwent, are threatened and feature in the Greater Gwent State of Nature Report (2021.)

Thanks to players of the National Lottery, Gwent Wildlife Trust has been awarded £50,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Funds Covid-19 Emergency Grants fund.

We work with community groups across Gwent to enable greater participation in action for local wildlife. Focussing on people with specific health conditions, we help them improve their health and wellbeing, discover, learn and share their knowledge and skills with others.
