Volunteer Work Parties

Gwent Wildlife Trust holds volunteer work parties in Monmouthshire every Tuesday and Thursday, also fortnightly on Fridays, and monthly on Saturdays.  Sessions typically last from 10am to 3pm, and involve tasks such as coppicing, scrub clearance, grassland management, fencing, and path maintenance, etc.

All necessary tools and guidance provided - no experience necessary.  Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear, and bring a packed lunch and refreshments.

Volunteer Shepherds

Gwent Wildlife Trust needs volunteers to act as shepherds for our Hereford cattle, and Hebridean and Hill Radnor sheep, which provide crucial conservation grazing on a number of wildlife-rich grassland sites.

Help us to fill our rota of daily livestock checks, and give as little as 1 hour per month of your time.  Support and guidance is provided.
