Natural Flood Management
Our summers are getting drier and our winters wetter. With more frequent storms, more intense rain events and increasing risk of flooding, we must find ways to slow water movement across landscapes. Reintroducing woody debris into streams is now a key focus in river restoration and national flood risk policies, supporting the principles of Natural Flood Management.
Bugs Matter 2021 results - please take part in this year's survey
The results from last year’s Bugs Matter survey have been published – the number of insects sampled on vehicle number plates by citizen scientists across the UK decreased by a staggering 57.8% between 2004 and 2021.
