Friday 15th September 2017

They say that life imitates art, but at Gwent Wildlife Trust’s AGM event, it will be a case of art imitating wildlife.

The trust is holding a Celebration of Welsh Wildlife Through Art evening, as part of their AGM, at the Ballroom of Glen-Yr-Afon Hotel, in Usk, on Wednesday, September 20, from 7pm.

Following the charity’s AGM, the trust’s Chief Executive Ian Rappel will give an introduction to the nature through art theme, as well as an update about the work of the trust, which manages around 30 nature reserves throughout the greater Gwent area.
Mr Rappel said: “We welcome everyone along our wonderful evening celebrating the links between Welsh nature, wildlife and art.”

Renowned wildlife artists Sally Stafford will give a presentation to the evening’s guests about how the natural world influences her amazing artworks, and Tracey-Anne Sitch will demonstrate her wonderful wildlife illustrations. There will be an exhibition of art inspired by nature during the event.

The evening, will also include poetry readings, photography and wildlife talks and the winners of Gwent Wildlife Trust’s photography competition and raffle will be announced.

Gwent Wildlife Trust’s – A Celebration of Welsh Wildlife Through Art event and AGM runs from 7pm until around 9.30pm.
Entry is free and the event is open to both Gwent Wildlife Trust members, as well as non-members.
