Gwent Wildlife Trust has a vision of an
environment rich in wildlife for everyone. We work to rebuild biodiversity
and engage people with their environment. We manage land, campaign for
wildlife, promote appreciation of wildlife and foster sustainable living.
Supported by more than 8000 members and 7 local members groups, we:
-
Manage 30 nature reserves – 900 acres in
total – including two farms
-
Conserve threatened species such as
dormice and water voles
-
Identify and help protect Wildlife Sites
-
Fight damaging development
-
Provide superb educational facilities at
Magor Marsh
-
Run children’s Wildlife Watch clubs
-
Run events so people can learn more about
nature
We are part of a nationwide network of 47 local Wildlife Trusts. Together we
have more than 700,000 members – the Wildlife Trusts are big enough to have
a real voice within local and national government. We can only be truly
effective thanks to the support of everyone who cares about the environment.
If you’re not already a member, please join the Trust today.
