The Welsh Assembly Government is consulting on proposed legislation for a massive cull of badgers as part of a programme to eradicate bovine TB in cattle in an Intensive Action Area in a defined part of west Wales.

On these pages we aim to provide some background information regarding the science underpinning the issue, an explanation of our own opposition to the cull policy, and what we at the Wildlife Trust, and you as members of the public, can do to help to prevent it.

1. Background information: the science of badgers, cattle and TB

2. GWT’s position: opposing the cull

3. Library of cull-related research and documentation

4. Why the cull won’t work - Frequently Asked Questions

NB.  Responses to the WAG badger cull consultation closed on 17th Dec 2010
