Help save ancient woodland

Can you help save irreplaceable ancient woodland near Pontypool?
An application has been made to Torfaen County Borough Council to cut a 1km access road through Craig Major and Craig Sion Siencyn to join Tirpentwys Quarry to the A472, enabling the extraction of stone.
If the road is built, between 2.5 and 3 hectares of woodland will be lost. It cannot be recreated by planting trees elsewhere and the impact of cutting the woodland into two smaller areas potentially causes bigger losses to wildlife than the construction itself.
You can help to save this valuable woodland. The Woodland Trust has set up a very user friendly online petition that we are encouraging people to sign. A few minutes of your time can make a big difference – visit www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/get-involved/campaign-with-us/our-campaigns/tirpentwys/
