Wild Places - Wales' Top 40 Nature Sites is Iolo William's pick of Wales' terrific variety of landscapes, habitats and wildlife. Buy one for yourself, and more for Christmas presents!
In Wild Places, television naturalist and Gwent Wildlife Trust Patron Iolo Williams picks his favourite forty from the many wonderful nature reserves in Wales. From the Great Orme to GWT's Magor Marsh, from Oxwich on the Gower to Gronant Dunes, Williams criss-crosses Wales and invites his audience to do the same. His list takes in coastal sites from marshes to islands to towering cliffs, mountains, valleys, bogs, meadows, woods and land reclaimed from industry. These wild places vary in size from the vast bogland at Tregaron to Kenfig, squeezed between Porthcawl and Port Talbot steelworks. They include sites of international significance, like Skomer Island, and the managed beauty of the former open cast site, Parc Slip.
