 Responding to Planning Applications 

Planning Appeals

Applicants can appeal to Environment Minister where Local Planning Authorities:

  • Refuse planning permission.

  • Grant planning permission subject to conditions.

  • Fail to determine an application (usually within 8 weeks).

Appeals can be heard by way of:

  • Written representation.

  • Public inquiry.

  • Informal hearing.

Only the applicant can appeal, there is no third party right of appeal.
